Today’s review is of Finnish Groove Metal band Solution 13’s comeback album.
Combining a strong Groove Metal base that is similar perhaps to the stylistic shift of Bay Area Thrash in the 90s with clearly Finnish hints of excessive melody, the release also includes elements of Hard Rock that make the whole unique, odd and catchier.
They have combined the energetic side of Groove Metal with a carefree Rock approach and enveloped it all in an aura fluctuating between angry, epic and heavy that adds a definitely modern kind of composition to the songs. The full-length also seems like an easy listen that can serve as introductory to newcomers.
I recommend this album to fans of Groove Metal, Thrash Metal and Hard Rock. My rating is of 8/10.
